My goodness, when it arrive we were more than thrilled! We love Russ's work. The Process
"The term: The term "Giclee (zhee-kley) print" is an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high-resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas and fine art papers. The giclee reproduction process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction available today.
Along with my passion for painting, I have always had the drive to create through the print medium. I studied printmaking in art school and apprenticed at several print shops exploring many different techniques including lithographs, offset, and screen printing. In my forty years of printmaking, I continue to execute the fine art of reproductions by creating giclee's in my studio.
Owning the finest equipment available I calibrate the colors to match the original. Each is hand worked to make it a one-of-a-kind piece of art; hand coloring, painting, or collage. I prefer working in small editions from as few as a one-of-a-kind piece to a small run of 50. These works are printed with museum quality archival inks on archival papers or gallery wrapped canvas with hand-painted sides that continue the image around each edge.
