"As I began to create a recent newsletter I over heard Russ describing how he created the movement in this piece in fact all his pieces to guests in the gallery.  Painting with small blocks of wood dipped in india ink he described his hand flowing while listening to music. He stated as I begin with the hair they come alive on the paper, moving down to the dresses and beyond.
